The growth of most malignant breast tumors is stimulated by female sex hormones. An antihormonal (»endocrine«) treatment, which is usually prescribed for several years, can effectively avoid the re-appearance of breast cancer. Endocrine therapy is administered through tablets and/or regular injections.
